Zimmer, McKnight, and Dukes looking for a lost ball

THE WINNING FORMULA

by Gary Scrivens (aka White Walker):

As you know, it was a beautiful course, and except for a few early showers, a beautiful day. Bobby drove the ball well, and played very solid golf, with just a few minor hiccups around the greens. I think he won his flight with a net 70 (gross 89), and 38 stableford points. He was definitely the MVP of the event, and I was very lucky to draw him for a partner. I was even luckier not to let him lose, as I'm told he would have kicked the living $hit out of me if I did. I played about as well as I could, and shot a 77, netting to 74, and 33 stableford points. The course was gorgeous, and I can't wait to play there again. We all struggled a bit with the speed and undulation of the greens, but they were nice. We really enjoyed our playing partners Jay and Al, but were definitely distracted by their erratic ball striking and slow pace of play. Not only did they give new meaning to the term "Zimmer one up", but by the end of the day "Zimmer another one up" had become their call.

JORDAN BUSTS A NUTT

by Steve Puls

The annual SAPs year-end provided the back drop for underdog of the year Gary Jordan to carry his Grant High classmate, Brian Nutt, to a  rousing win over the favorites Mark Maly and Steve "Bipulzer" Puls . This much anticipated side bet match with the usual high stakes gambling started out tight but Jordan's ability to save or win a hole with his grotesquely over rated handicap punished Maly and Puls time and again. After the match, Mark Maly confided, "I hate this course and next year I want Jordan for a partner". When asked about the team win, Brian Nutt crowed, "It's about time. Jordan is my all time bitch ho and ATM. Without my coaching, that boy would be bowling". Puls was unavailable for comment and last seen wandering the parking lot recounting his putts and popping Prozac. For Gary Jordan, it was just another payday.

ZELZNAK COMES THROUGH IN THE CLUTCH

by Alf

Heading into the Year End tournament, nobody expected the teams of Zelzak and Krenz or Alf and Mark White to challenge for the title. And they were right. Both teams got off to a middling start, and kept it up the entire round. With that said, however, George Zelznak played a solid round of golf, shooting a net 73 and winning a respectable 33 Stableford points.  Mark Krenz had the shot of the day (for this grouping) when, after losing his ball in the rough on the par 3 13th hole, went back to Zimmer it up and came less than 3 feet from holing out his third shot, all while the following group stood watching from behind. George also came up with another shot of the day when he got this photo of Alf teeing off on 18. Since I'm the webmaster, I get to post the picture. The ball can be seen streaking towards the rough. Thanks George!
